First Pan-Armenian 24-hour Web Open Source (WebOS) Programming Marathon is the Final Event of the IT Month
Yerevan, Armenia, October 11, 2006– the first 24-hour Pan-Armenian online Web Open Source (WebOS2006) programming marathon organized within the scope of IT month will take place on 14 October 2006. The organizers of the marathon are Enterprise Incubator Foundation (EIF) and Open Soft Consult organizations. The marathon is sponsored by Sun Microsystems, Sourcio, Arminco, Union of Information Technologies Enterprises (UITE) and IT Development and Support Council (IT DSC).
Open Source 24-hour Marathon will once again stimulate the innovative initiatives and skills of IT area professionals in open source development.
There are already significant results in that sphere, particularly the active response of Sys-Con Media. Sys-Con Media is the leading IT media company, which provides information about breaking technologies, as well as it is the fastest growing IT media in the world. Sys-Con Media has published article about First Armenian Web Open Source (WebOS2006) programming marathon on its website, which is a great chance of promoting and publicizing Armenia's IT talents to the world.
There are active responses from French sources, such as Repertoire Annuaire et Meta Moteur Limier, Nouvelles d'Arménie en Ligne medias.

For participating in Open Source 24-hour programming marathon, it is necessary to register at the http://webos2006.com web site till October 12, 2006. The participants will receive tasks before the contest, which will check participants’ skills.
The contest will last for 24 hours. The best works will be awarded. The thorough technical skills of participants will be taken into account. The prize winning fund is 1,200,000 AMD.
